Guildford Coastal Cruising Club
Workshop - Sailability at Papercourt
Have you ever wanted to find out more about how Sailability operates and the disabled people who are able to benefit from the charity? Perhaps you have considered volunteering with Sailability yourself, but wanted to find out more first? Here is an opportunity to hear all about Chris's extensive experience with the Sailability Charity for over 20 years.
Members will be able to see a demonstration of the various equipment used. These include a specially adapted Hanse dingy, a Crabber 17 and a landing craft. We are also pleased to welcome a wheelchair member who will come down to talk through his experiences, and demonstrate on land how the Access dinghies work. Members will have the opportunity to learn knowledge, insights and experience with fellow sailors and those who have acted as volunteers themselves.
As is usual, the bar will be open from 20:00 hrs. and Chris plans to start the workshop around 20:30 hrs. As this will be a practical hands-on session on the lakeside, this Workshop will not be provided on Zoom. There is no need to register specifically for this Workshop.
Workshops are an opportunity for members to share and develop individual knowledge in a relaxed, informal and social environment and we especially hope you will be able to join us on this very worthwhile and useful evening.
