Workshop on Splicing

It is almost 2-years since Chris provided us with an expert demonstration of splicing … in fact it was our first online event held during lockdown and I wonder how many people can (a) remember how it is done or (b) had the opportunity to practice …. well, here’s your chance!
On Tuesday, 29th March, we will be holding the next in our series of workshops and Chris has kindly agreed a Splicing ‘refresher’ … specifically focussing on 3-strand eye splices and braid on braid. If time permits, he will also demonstrate some soft shackles.
This time though, it will very much be hands-on, and you will get the chance to try making your own splices. Of course, you will need to supply your own rope of which I'm sure many of us have off-cuts in our garage!
As is usual, the club will be open from 20:00 hrs. and Chris plans to start the workshop at 20:30 hrs..
Workshops are an opportunity for members to share and develop individual knowledge in a relaxed, informal and social environment.
