Workshop on Diesel Engines
Tuesday 2nd April 2019 8.30pm - 10.00pm
Led by Malcolm 'Denny' Denham supported by Jorgen Veslov
An opportunity to share ideas and issues related to diesel engines. Main topic areas:
1. What is going to stop you at sea? a) fuel related problems, running out of it, blocked fuel filters, diesel bug or air in the system b) loss of cooling water. Some thoughts on how to minimise the risk, get early warning of problems and fixing them. 2. The little items that when neglected can cause big problems. If you have any particular areas you want covered then please reply to this email. Come along with experiences, questions, problems, ideas etc. to share with the group.
Denny is a Chartered Mechanical engineer and started his career designing and developing small diesel engines, he then worked for Lloyds register of Shipping on the largest diesel engines. For 9 years he ran the fuel and lubricant engine test facilities for BP, so is well qualified to cover most issues related to diesel engines.
