The 36th America's Cup may be two years away but the local Kiwi industry may already be ‘winning’.   AC defender Team New Zealand sets the boat design rules and has come up with an AC75 monohull in the hope that a trickle-down effect will permeate the industry.

“A solid fixed-wing catamaran needing 30 or 40 people to launch it every day .. isn’t practical for the average yachtsman.... We're trying to come up with a semi-soft wing .. that could eventually be seen on cruising boats.”
