New Prada Cup
The America’s Cup community attended Yacht Club de Monaco last week at the unveiling and launch of the Prada Cup, designed by Marc Newson (AUS) and hand-crafted by a consortium of Florentine Silversmiths. The Prada Cup will replace the Louis Vuitton Trophy, awarded to the winner of the Challenger Series in preparation for the 36th America's Cup ('AC36') in 2021.
2021 America Cup Schedule:
The preliminary World Series events are being held in 2019 (two events) and 2020 (three events) at various venues around the world plus an additional Christmas Regatta in December 2020. The Challenger Series (Prada Cup) events are all to be held in New Zealand during January and February 2021. The final America Cup match occurs in Auckland from 6-21 March 2021 between the 'Challenger' (Prada Cup Winner) and the current AC holder 'Team New Zealand' of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron.
